Las Cruces

General Info
Like every old, growing city, Las Cruces has many recognizable neighborhoods.  The original townsite areas of the Mesquite and Alameda neighborhoods still have great historical treasures.  You will find Crescent Park, Bellamah and University Hills near NMSU.  As the city expands outward, you'll find great neighborhoods from Southeast Mesilla Park, to Las Alturas, to Telshor, to Las Alamedas, to High Range, to Jornada/East Mesa, to Elks Club, to Country Club, to Picacho Hills , to Mesilla.  Beyond the city limits, you'll find great north and south valley properties.  Each one of these areas has a nice range of properties available, so where you eventually purchase property is truly dependent on your personal preferences.  There are many comfortable neighborhoods in Las Cruces.
Public Safety

The county sheriff's department and the local police have worked very hard at improving their training over the past decade.  You may visit their web-sites on the recommended links button.

Business Environment
The business environment in Las Cruces is getting stronger with each passing year.  The Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and Hispano Chamber of Commerce have like minded goals of making it easier to manage a business in this community.  The Mesilla Valley Economic Development Authority works for long term economic growth by reaching out to companies that will gain from establishing a business presense here.
Education
Las Cruces has many opportunities for public, private and secondary education.  Go to the recommended links button to see the web-sites of the local public & private educational institutions.
Tourism & Local Interest

The geography surrounding the Las Cruces area is remarkable for it's beauty.  The entire state of New Mexico is incredibly beautiful, but we are to focus on the Las Cruces area here.  For destinations within an hour, you may visit Truth or Consequences, Deming, Alamagordo, El Paso, White Sands National Monument, Fort Seldon, Dripping Springs, Aguirre Springs, Lake Lucero at White Sands Missile Range, Rio Grande River, Franklin Mountains, Robledos, Picacho Peak, San Augustine Pass, Organ Mountains, and so on.  For destinations less than 2 hours distance, you may visit the City of Rocks, Gila National Forest, Lincoln National Forest, Ruidoso, Rock Hound State Park, Elephant Butte Lake, Bosque Del Apache, Silver City, and Socorro.  Carlsbad Caverns is about 3 hours away.  These are incredibly beautiful areas to visit and enjoy, all very inexpensive and easy to access.
